THE
SNOWFALL
by
George Edward Tait |
|
Another winter of snowraped streets
With cold-blooded winds mugging at will
The criminal element has arrived
Draped in the colorlessness of death
A white bodymask of blistered doom
As snowball soldiers bleed from hidden broken glass
& neglected elders die from falls and frostbite
Another winter of snowcoated asphalt
As family cars skid into ice-covered graves
Or into snowblinded pedestrians
Another winter in an alien land
Where the homeless hell
Does freeze over
Where masochists pray that Christmas be white
& sadists sing:
"Let it snow,
Let it snow,
Let it snow." |
